I had an awesome cat named Spike. He was my little buddy. But he died this summer while I was away

He was super old though. Like, 17 or something. I had him for most of my life.

I don't have any pictures on hand

I gotta ask, was he an outdoor cat or an indoor one? My cat is 13 and he's an outdoor, and people say that's really old for an outdoor cat, but he's shown no signs of slowing down.

He was both. We let him come and go as he pleased, pretty much.

Today my cat escaped through my front door into the hallway and I cried, no joke. I don't think I could ever own an outdoor cat, I'd be too scared of them getting hurt or never coming back.

With outdoor cats, do they ever come into your house and like... do you cuddle them? Because that's what I do with my cats 99% of the time Or are you more their caretaker in the sense you give them food and then you let them do whatever you want?

Also Kimmi, I'm sorry. I've lost a lot of pets in my life and it's never fun.

I had a cat that I called Kitten her whole life (she was smaller than average) - she died when she was four of kidney failure =[ She was both an indoor and outdoor cat but she loved cuddling. I used to be able to go outside, call her name and she would come running to me, even if she was in neighbours yards - I'd always just wait a minute and she'd jump over the fence and run to me <3

Some outdoor cats just treat you like a food provider lol but she was great

i would post pictures of my pets but i dont want to accidentally give anything away about who i am, lol

Found a picture of my cat. He looks pissed in this picture, but he was really a sweet little thing, I think this was just taken when he was old and sick. Also I double checked, and he was in fact 17 when he died.
