Survivor finale!

Postby Denise » Wed Dec 17, 2014 11:35:32 pm

I can't believe no one made this thread. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Natalie ftw bitches! Absolutely deserving, and what an odd pair of bookends to the season with her and Nadiya.

Just some random things that struck me: that F5 IC with the balls looked hard as hell, Keith's advantage seemed just unfair (maybe no practice but 1 ball already in place?); personally, I thought it was foolish to keep Missy over Baylor, because who the hell would vote for Baylor but her mom; likewise, I think they should've axed Nat instead of Keith, but I get where Jaclyn was coming from; Reed's speech was epic and I fucking loved it.

Tell me what you thought, people! Also, how interesting is this Survivor: Various Collars deal going to be? Class warfare, baby.

OMFG YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS THREAD <3

As expected, my Queen/Survivor Superstar Natalie SLAYED.

The pre-merge of this season was terrible but the post-merge delivered. Natalie may be one of my favourite winners ever because 1. she's the exact kind of winner I like and 2. she rounded out such a great storyline of her doing things on her own sake, for her sister's sake, and for Jeremy's sake. So awesome. I would've been sooo disappointed if anyone else had won.

I probably would've had Baylor's reaction if someone talked about my mom like that tbh. Missy seems sweet irl, but she's not very good at the game. The way Reed delivered his speech was really funny though. He clearly practiced it a lot.

Class divide... we don't use those collar-terms here so I was really confused about what it meant. It'll be interesting, but I'm worried about really bad stunt casting. Rumor is that it'll be a good season though, so I'm tentatively excited. I'm hoping there'll be no spoilers like there were basically none for this season. Even if I don't like spoilers I always end up clicking them anyways.

Loved it! People underestimate how important it is to undersell yourself to fellow castaways towards the end of the game (like Natalie reportedly did to Jaclyn here). I'm pretty impressed with Nat's game overall; she adopted to a variety of different situations and more specifically overcame adversity after the Jeremy vote with ease. Reed's jury speech may be one of the best ever. It is right up there with Sue Hawk and Lisi for my favorite jury moments of all time. I already had limited info on season 30 from Redmond, and am pretty damn excited about it. If you guys are familiar with the casting spoilers, I pretty much already know I'm going to support
Spoiler: show
Max Dawson, who literally taught a class on Survivor. I think it's almost 100 percent he will be on now. (I caught a glimpse of him in the preview, I think). Yay!
. Love 3 tribes, too. Should be a fun season!

I absolutely loved Nat's win in light of the last several eps, I just felt like she got such a minimal edit premerge and that was disappointing, since I didn't pay as much attention to her before.

Completely agree with everything re: Missy and The Speech. Right up there with rats & snakes, almost better because it was such a juxtaposition to the other lame questions.

Nat definitely did a great job of getting everyone to trust her at the end. Just ridiculous. Like how did Jaclyn fall victim to that shit? I love it.

I thought the "no collar" was pretty cheesy, but it'll be a great contrast with the other two. I reeeally hope it lives up to the spoiler hype. icon_ha

Anyone draw any similarities to the players in Nepal and the players in SJDS?

Well, I was basically a badass, and a manipulator of this game, so it's pretty obvious who my comparison was
